Customers
Customer management
Create customer profiles, save contact details and delivery addresses, then explore searching, filters, exports, order history and everyday customer tools.
Create a customer
Open Add customer
Open Customers and choose Add customer. This guide uses a fictional customer; the preview does not create a real record.
Review the customer form
Add customer is one page. Name and phone are required; email, birthday, tags, notes and delivery addresses are optional. Cancel and Save customer are in the page header.
Enter the customer name
Enter Sophea Lim in Name. The red asterisk marks this required field. Leading and trailing spaces are trimmed when saving.
Enter a phone number
Enter the customer phone in Phone. This is a single phone field, with no separate country selector. Name and phone must both contain a value before saving.
Check the required details
Check the name and phone for accuracy. These two fields are enough to create a customer; add the remaining details only when useful.
Add an optional email
Enter an email address if available. Email is optional; this fictional example uses sophea@example.test.
Add an optional birthday
Use the Birthday date input to enter 14 September 1995. The date control follows the browser date format. Birthday can be left empty.
Review the optional contact details
Check the email and birthday before continuing. Adding optional details does not change the required name and phone.
Type a tag
In Tags, type Regular. The placeholder says Add a tag and press Enter; typing alone does not add the tag to the saved tags.
Press Enter to add the tag
Press Enter to turn Regular into a tag chip. The app trims the tag, ignores an exact duplicate and clears the tag input. The cross on a chip removes that tag.
Add an optional team note
Use Notes for information your team needs, such as a delivery preference. Tags and notes are optional customer details.
Open Add address
In Delivery addresses, choose Add address. Addresses are optional and can be reused when creating an order.
Enter the street address
In Delivery address, enter the Street address. Street address and City are the required address fields.
Add an apartment or unit
Apartment / unit is optional. This example adds Unit 2.
Enter the city
Enter Phnom Penh in City. The address cannot be added until both Street address and City contain a value.
Add a postal code if available
Postal code can be left empty. This example supplies a fictional delivery postal code.
Open the country selector
Open Country to choose from the supported country names. Country is optional.
Choose Cambodia
Choose Cambodia from the country list. Review the complete address before adding it to the form.
Choose the default address
Select Set as default delivery address if this should be the preferred address. The checkbox starts unchecked; adding the first address does not automatically make it default.
Add the address to the draft
Choose Save address. This closes the address dialog and adds the address to the customer form draft. It does not yet save the customer or address to your store.
Review the draft address
Review the address and Default badge on the form. The pencil edits it and the trash icon removes it. Finish with Save customer to persist the customer and delivery addresses.
Review the customer
Review the required name and phone, optional contact details, committed tag, note and draft delivery address. Everything remains editable on the same page.
Save the customer
Choose Save customer in the page header. The form checks the required fields and saves the customer with the delivery addresses. Review any error shown on the form before retrying.
Wait for saving
Save customer changes to Saving… and the form controls are disabled while the save is pending. A successful save clears the saved form draft and opens the customer profile.
Review the new profile
The saved profile opens for Sophea Lim. A new customer is Active. This customer has no connected paid orders yet, so Paid orders and Total spent are zero and Last order is empty.
Check the saved information
Customer information shows the saved phone, email, birthday, tag and note. Edit customer reopens the form if a correction is needed.
Check the saved delivery address
Delivery addresses shows the saved address and its Default badge. Edit addresses in customer settings opens the customer form to manage addresses.
Review order history
Order history is empty for this new customer. Orders connected to the customer appear here later; creating a customer does not create an order.
Customer features
Search customers
Find saved people by name, contact details or customer ID. Use the search field in Customers. It matches name, phone, email and ID without case sensitivity. No matching customers provides Clear filters, which resets search, status and pagination without changing any customer record.
Filter by customer status
Use the tabs or status selector to focus the list. All customers, Active and Inactive tabs share their filter with Customer status. Changing either control returns to page one. The saved statuses stay fixed while filtering. The current customer editor does not expose an Active / Inactive switch.
Sorting the desktop list
Compare customer names and paid-order figures. On desktop, click Customer, Paid orders, Total spent, Last order or Status to cycle through ascending, descending and cleared sorting. The table starts with Customer names ascending. The mobile customer cards do not expose column-header sorting. Sorting changes the displayed order and does not edit customer data.
Browse customer pages
Move through matching customers ten records at a time. Previous, Next and desktop page numbers navigate the filtered list. Mobile shows the current page and page count. The count describes every matching customer, while each page contains up to ten records. Search and status changes return to the first page.
Export customers
Prepare a CSV of the customers matching your filters. Apply search and status filters, then choose Export. The export includes all matching records across pages, using the original filtered list order rather than the current table sort. Columns include customer ID, name, email, phone, Paid orders, Total spent, Last order, status, tags, notes, birthday and creation date. The guide illustrates the result without downloading a real file.
Understand a customer profile
Review paid-order figures, contact information and saved addresses. Choose a customer name or View from Customers. Paid orders, Total spent and Last order summarize qualifying paid orders in the store currency; cancelled and returned orders are excluded. Customer information shows phone, email, optional birthday, tags and notes. Delivery addresses show address lines and the Default label where saved.
Review customer orders
Open a saved order from the customer’s recent history. Order history lists up to ten newest associated orders, including their dates, individual currencies, totals and order statuses. It can include orders outside the Paid orders statistic. Choose View order or its order number to open the order in Orders. Reading the history or opening an order makes no payment or fulfillment change.
Edit customer details
Keep the existing profile’s contact details and birthday current. Open the profile, choose Edit customer, and review its prefilled fields. Name and phone are required; email and birthday are optional. Save customer updates the same record and returns to its profile. This form does not expose a customer-status control. Editing requires customer management access.
Manage tags and team notes
Add useful labels and save context for your team. In Edit customer, type a tag and press Enter to add its chip. Use a chip’s cross to remove a tag. Empty and exactly duplicated tags are ignored. Edit the optional Notes field, then Save customer. Tags and notes are saved on the customer profile; this does not send a message.
Manage saved delivery addresses
Edit address details, choose a default and remove old entries. Open Edit addresses in customer settings below the profile’s addresses. The pencil opens Delivery Address; Street address and City are required. Save address updates the editor draft. Setting one address as default clears the other Default flags. The trash icon removes an address from the draft. Save customer applies these changes; unchanged address IDs are preserved.
Delete a customer
Remove the profile after reviewing which records are retained. Open the profile’s dots menu, choose Delete customer and review the selected customer in the confirmation. Cancel keeps the profile; Delete customer requires management access. Deletion removes the customer and their saved addresses. Existing orders are preserved but no longer linked to any customer. The guide uses an independent illustration and deletes no real record.
